Thursday Highlights

We will kick off our summit with an informative panel hosted by JPMC! This panel will highlight the purpose and importance of the 2020 dmT Virtual Summit, note the impetus for JPMC's partnership with Do More Together to deliver this type of conference to this specific Veteran community, and call attention to the critical issues JPMC leaders are addressing during these ever changing times. The presenters will discuss the importance of partnering with organizations to engage, mobilize, and empower underrepresented populations; provide examples of how JPMC partners with communities, nonprofits, and organizations from different sectors to positively impact the world; and share lessons learned and best practices for leaders operating in a global organization.

Black Women Military “Trailblazers” will engage in a panel discussion on the significance of their military “firsts.” They will reflect on why each chose a specific path in the military, share challenges they encountered and/or successes they achieved, reflect on how their journeys have impacted their development as leaders, and share what they believe their accomplishments have meant to the Black community. This panel gives you a front row seat to the embodiment of creating and celebrating a legacy. Join us!

Friday Highlights
This is a panel discussion of epic proportions! We will provide attendees with the knowledge needed to effectively promote sustainable racial equity initiatives in the workplace. The primary objectives include: providing a working definition of “workplace” equity based on leadership experiences, giving examples of best practices for addressing racial inequity and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace, and providing examples of effective key performance indicators that promote racial equity in the workplace. This panel will help you be a more effective leader at all levels of your organization!

These breakout sessions will provide attendees with an overview, current initiatives, and future strategic goals for Do More Together's four committees: "Building the Pipeline" Diversity Recruiting Committee, "Accelerate" Networking Program Committee, "Grip Hands" Mentorship Program Committee, and "Impact Investing" Fundraising Committee. The purpose of this session is to provide context and training on the psychological and historical underpinnings of race, racism, and racial trauma. As leaders, our ability to have conversations around racial reconciliation can be elevated when we understand these foundations. Join this session to hear experts in the field with vast experience examining and teaching others how these issues present within the therapy space. The panelists will take a current and historical perspective for understanding the experiences and impact of race, racism, and racial trauma on People of Color. The presenters aim to assist attendees of different racial backgrounds with identifying how they might respond to these traumatic occurrences. Multilevel approaches to healing will be discussed. Two diversity CE credits are available from the DC Psychological Association.
